The Founder

Boitumelo Boikhutso is the founder and Managing Director of Boitshoko Consulting and a registered counsellor with the HPCSA specialising in trauma. Having obtained her Bachelor of Psychology (B Psych Hons) degree at Midrand Graduate Institute, now known as Pearson Institute of Higher Education. Also, she is registered with BHF in private practice with Suedewellness as their resident Counsellor.

From a young age, she has always been attuned to the people around her, their behaviour patterns, and their well-being. A true part of her nature that she would say makes her highly effective at her work, which was supplemented greatly by her tertiary studies.

She has found herself working in different spaces over the years such as Leeukop Prison, African Leadership Academy, Teddy Bear Clinic for abused women and children. She has worked for the leading Employee Assistant Programme (EAP) companies as a Clinician, Group Trauma Consultant and a few years later working as an affiliate where she assists organisations by providing their clients with training, workshops, and clinical and strategic interventions. Working from a bio-psycho-social perspective, she believes that this allows for a broader way of tackling issues and creating insight and awareness to helping people lead better lives.

Her business, Boitshoko Consulting has worked with clients such as Anglo-America/ Technoserve, where they provided psycho-social programmes for BA and PC’s of the different mining communities. Graca Machel Trust, where they provide employees a support programme for the staff. PwC where they provide psycho-educational training and development programmes. Hannover re, where they ran a GBV (Gender-Based Violence) workshops for the staff. Old Mutual, where they assisted with mental health and wellness training for some of their government subsidiaries. They are currently in partnership with Healthi Choices (EAP company) where Boitshoko assists in providing training for their clients. 


Boitumelo with a colleague of hers, started a mental health and wellness show called “Head Space with BBM” on Mix FM 93.8, which aired every second Monday of each month for five years, giving her experience and exposure in radio broadcasting as well as psycho-educating in this space. She has appeared on TV shows such as Vusaseki (SABC 2) Motswako (SABC 2) Raising Babies (SABC 2) Talk S.A. (SABC 2), Let’s Talk Papgeld (Moja Love – DSTV Channel 157). She has also done work with Penny Lebyane on Khaya Fm 95.9’s influential Fridays, talking about “adulting” from youth and psychological perspective. She has also appeared in the news broadcasting spaces (New Room Africa and Channel Africa) Where she spoke on psychological impacts as well as the importance of mental health. She was the co-host on “The born free podcast” for two years, where different life issues were discussed and unpacked from a youth perspective.


She states: “I truly enjoy helping people communities and organisations better themselves and those around them. By building a psycho-educated and aware South Africa we help build this nation.”


Shirley Masemola

Shirley Masemola is an experienced Clinical Consultant and Case Manager, with a demonstrated history of working in the Wellness industry. She has worked for leading EAP companies namely: ICAS, Careways, EOH Health and PHS.  In the years of being in the Wellness industry she has enhanced and developed skills in running and facilitating workshops, inductions, wellness days, research and developing training material. She is experienced in recruiting and managing affiliates, report writing, billing, maintaining and developing professional relationship with client companies, compiling stats and recommendations on reports to client companies.

Shirley Masemola is a Registered Counsellor specializing in trauma. She has been working in the Wellness industry for 7 years specializing in: Individual counselling, trauma debriefings, group therapy, managerial consultation, executive consulting and one on one session’s, group and workshop facilitations, training facilitation and research, induction and wellness day facilitation, and fatigue management. In addition, she has managed and worked onsite for The Office of the Presidency from 2016-2018, registered with BHF in private Practice which she has been running since 2015. In addition, Shirley Masemola has affiliated with organizations by providing their clients with trainings, workshops and clinical and strategic interventions.

Shirley attained her Honours degree in Bachelor of Psychology at Midrand Graduate institute. She has completed and was awarded a certificate for completing the 16PF training. She is now a fatigue Management Specialist registered with BSS. Shirley Masemola is passionate about the wellbeing of the uniqueness that comes with every individual and communities.


Molebogeng Diseko

Molebogeng Diseko, Registered Counsellor in private practice who is passionate about creating a positive narrative of mental health in South Africa.

I graduated with a BPsych from Pearson Institute of Higher Education (PIHE) and am a Registered Counsellor with the HPCSA; I am also registered with the BHF in private practice. I joined Boitshoko Consulting in 2018 as a Consultant. I am a vibrant and passionate young professional that is looking for an opportunity to grow and make a positive impact in the community. I have integrity, am honest, persevering, a good communicator and I have a curious mind.

I have trained and worked in various settings and contexts providing counselling, trauma debriefing and interventions for individuals and groups. I’m also trained to administer basic assessments, mental health disorders identification and screening. I am also competent in research, psycho-educational interventions and training. The different settings include Teddy Bear Clinic, Olifantsfontein Police Station, Halfway House Primary, Cresset Farm, Khula Clinic, Beokenhout Community Healthcare Centre, SADAG and Transet Phelophepa Health Train.

A few of my achievements include:

  • Being a seasoned Registered Counsellor for Live at Night on 5FM (2019).
  • Formed part of a group that introduced an anti-bullying campaign in Halfway House Primary.
  • Organised a women’s sexual health awareness day.
  • Awarded a Certificate Transet Phelophepa Health Train.
  • Awarded a Certificate for serving the VEC.

    • Run in conjunction with the Midrand Police Department, the Victim empowerment Centre aims to assist community members and the police through their experiences with crime. Victim Empowerment Centre offers support and debriefing to those individuals who have been affected by crime.

Boitshoko Consulting was birthed out of the need to help organizations incorporate employee wellness and mental health awareness into company cultures and productivity strategies.

Through its tailor made training and workshops for each client. Boitshoko consulting is motivated to alleviate the effects of issues that may transpire in the work environment through training as well as psych-education.

Boitshoko Consulting is focused on the training and employee development side of a business. We render serveries with regards to psycho-educating organizations through consulting, workshops, training, interventions, and emotional impact sessions with individuals or groups.

Boitshoko Consulting maintains a minimal company profile primarily because we are not a full service company. Our focus is on high quality, high impact work with our clients. We ensure the highest ethical standards informed by our experience in Trauma Counselling and guidelines provided by the HPCSA.

We are a young, energetic and vibrant company with an enthusiasm towards change in the workplace and society. We bring the human element into engagements with everyone in different workspaces. Our goal is to help enable skill sets such as work life balance, healthy inter-personal relationships, conflict management and resolution.
